We contacted Shahar Fearing of Four Winds Dog Training in Late August 2019. We were very impressed with her approach to training and felt that our golden retriever puppy (about 12 weeks old at the time) would have an excellent experience with her. Our dog, Minnie, was fearful, having a difficult time with our 8-year old retriever, and is a resource guarder. We had previously had a negative experience with both a dog behaviorist and an obedience trainer, as each tried a “one size fits all” approach with Minnie, not truly understanding her strengths and weaknesses, nor how to channel her behaviors into positive outcomes.

Shahar is very gifted in her ability to understand how a dog thinks and applies these concepts to working with all dogs. This, along with her calm, patient demeanor and positive attitude to all of life, sets her apart from all others in her field. She worked with Minnie in and out of her home, for seven weeks, providing a balanced, nurturing approach and also worked with our older dog and Minnie together. We cannot say enough about the loving care, and unique training Minnie received. We are absolutely thrilled with the results. With Shahar’s guidance, we have gained confidence and skill to work on and continue to incorporate the exercises with Minnie as her training progresses moving forward.

We now not only have a well behaved and pleasant puppy in our home, an amazing place to board our dogs, but also a wonderful friend! We very highly recommend Shahar and Four Winds!!

Enrolled in clicker training class with my 9 year-old dog. Had low expectations for how much we could accomplish. However, Shahar showed incredible patience with me and my dog, and showed me how to be patient as well. After a slow start, we had a breakthrough, and have been progressing steadily. I am very grateful for her help, and recommend her wholeheartedly. Thanks Shahar!

We contacted Four Winds Dog Training because we’d had trouble with our female Klein Poodle. Marlo has been aggressive towards men in certain situations - including one biting incident. Shahar of Four Winds has worked methodically with us and Marlo in our home, teaching us to use clicker training and positive reinforcements. Shahar listened to us (and Marlo!) and works to find the best outcomes for a situation while staying true to her own experience and training. We are currently attending her 6-session group class to hone our clicker training skills.

Great Hands On Training
We had two very productive sessions. The trainer was very experienced and put together easy to follow training instructions that we could do in 10 to 15 minutes per day. Our dog was very responsive to these techniques and training has stuck! It was time and money well spent! We are sold on Four Winds.
